Pasco Public Works is beautifying the County’s medians.
The Department is continuing its aesthetic improvements of the median landscaping on Starkey Boulevard.
The existing Maple and Oak trees will be replanted in suitable locations within Pasco County. Maple and Oak trees are not suitable vegetation in medians because their root system can damage the road base, which is a safety hazard to vehicular traffic when the tree trunk reaches maturity.
Crews will plant Crepe Myrtles trees in the median, along with 3-gallon Red Copper, Variegated Confederate Jasmine, Plumbago and Red Fountain Grass plants, and 1-gallon Blue My Mind plants, which is a specialized hybrid Morning Glory plant.
The Starkey Boulevard beautification project is scheduled to resume Tuesday, August 3, 2021. The project will tentatively be complete by October 12, 2021. The project will have no impact on vehicular traffic during work.
