Pasco County Commission on Human Trafficking
To ensure the health and safety of the people in our community through awareness, education, and advocacy efforts.
To work toward a day when no person within Pasco County is compelled to work on engage in a commercial sex act against their will.
The purpose of the Pasco County Commission on Human Trafficking (PCCHT) is to 1) promote public awareness of the existence of human trafficking within Pasco County, the Tampa Bay Region, and throughout Florida; 2) establish, through relationship building within the community, education programming opportunities for the public and key industries to recognize the indicators of human trafficking and learn to report suspected human trafficking, and to provide education generally through its members; 3) advocate strategies, financially and otherwise, to aid rescued victims/survivors of human trafficking; and 4) to support and promote the work of other individuals and organizations that further the purpose and work of the Commission.
The Pasco County Commission on Human Trafficking shall be composed of individuals from one of the following sectors identified as being critical in combatting human trafficking:
- A County Commissioner
- Two representatives of the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office with one being a representative of the Child Protection Investigations Unit
- Pasco County School District
- Community/Victim Services Advocate
- Tourism/Hospitality Industry
- Medical and/or Behavioral Health Profession
- Faith-based Community
- Anti-Human Trafficking Community Advocate (must work for an anti-human trafficking organization)
- Business Sector
- Survivor of human trafficking
- Professor/researcher from a local institution of higher learning
- Member at large (from any segment identified above)
Notice of regular or special meetings of the Commission and the time and location of each meeting shall be published to the public on the main Pasco County website and the Commission’s website. The Commission shall establish a schedule of regular meetings, which shall be held at least every other month. A schedule of each year's regular meetings shall be distributed to all members in December of the preceding calendar year. The Chairperson may call a special meeting of the Commission on his/her initiative and shall call a special meeting at the request of any four (4) members. Commission meetings shall be held in a public facility of sufficient size to accommodate those present and at such locations as the Commission may determine from time to time.
Pasco County Commission on Human Trafficking 2022 Meeting Dates
All meetings are scheduled from 3:30pm-5:00pm in the County Utility Administration Building Cotee Conference Room (19420 Central Boulevard, Land O’Lakes, FL 34637). Meetings are open to the public.
